THE TRAINING METHODS
Following the curriculum and training set forth by the founder, Instructors and Assistant Instructors have a rigorous training and mentor-ship under Sifu Markle. Instructors/Assistants are required to learn the forms taught to their class with great proficiency.
Learning the forms, the applications, and the flow and development of energy is an ongoing process. A student cannot become an actual Assistant Instructor without having a minimum of 5 years of training and 1500 hours of Instruction/practice, and at least 1-2 years of Assistant Instructor training simultaneously. Some hours of personal practice can be counted in instances that the student is working closely with Sifu Markle. They must also continue to train in regular classes on a regular basis. To become an Instructor takes much longer, and the curriculum is more varied. Instructors must spar, learn applications, 2 man drills etc.

TRAINING IN THE GOLD SUMMIT WAY
To begin with, Instructors and Assistant Instructors are required to study and practice the philosophy of traditional Chinese Martial Arts, most specifically the way of Gold Summit. Following the ancient philosophies of Buddhism, Daoism and Confucianism and how those philosophies fit into and/or are taught at Gold Summit, Instructors learn to live in their daily lives beyond the classroom, in an upstanding, disciplined but relaxed way. The concept of WU DE, Martial Ethics, must be learned and practiced.
INSTRUCTORS WITH FORMER EXPERIENCE or FROM OTHER STYLES
As Gold Summit has expanded, other Instructors and Masters are sometimes invited to teach. And after some time of rigorous training, Gold Summit trained Instructors also research and experience other forms and styles. But all Instructors who have trained in other styles still understand and appreciate the methods of Gold Summit teaching and philosophy. That means that regardless of style taught at Gold Summit, the deeper, traditional meaning and cultivation will be present and there will be harmony between the Instructors and Sifu Markle's methods. A good example might be Coach Larson, who has trained with Sifu Markle, but studies Baji Kung fu under Vincent Tan. He continues to refine his teaching skills, adhere to the philosophy of Gold Summit and cultivate his Buddhist study, even as he brings the techniques and methods from his Baji training. Only Instructors who are aligned with the real traditional way that is found in the modern day will be Instructing at Gold Summit.
When following the style, methods of Gold Summit, Instructors and Assistants gain the respect and care of the students. They carry on the tradition of genuine practice by striving to be a role model and good citizen. In this way, students can learn more than just physical techniques, they can actually learn the WAY OF PRACTICE.
