GOLD SUMMIT TEA ROOM OPENS IN 2014!
Beginning with a single herbal tea served to students and parents, The Tea room expanded to include a full menu of loose leaf teas, herbal drinks for the seasons and lots of healthy snacks. The Gold Summit Tea Room still operates in Wales, N.Y. on Sundays from March to December.
IMPORTANT PREVIOUS EVENTS
JULY 2016 - Changzhou China TV station and a 40 person delegation came to Buffalo to film a documentary about the Sister City relationship between Changzhou and Buffalo. Laoshi Markle, Director of the Sister City relationship, was highlighted in the film for her work in Sister Cities and her work in the Chinese Arts. The release will be in October/November of this year to be shown in China.
FEB. 2016 - Laoshi Markle and 5 of her young kung fu students performed at Chinese New Year at UB's Main Stage Theatre. Ages 7 to 12 years of age, the young students followed Laoshi's lead on stage to perform excerpts of Longfist, Shaolin Kung fu,and Monkey style to ring in the new year!
JUNE 2015 - Gold Summit rowed with the Confucius Institute at UB in the Hope Chest Dragon Boat races. With only half hour of training together, the group managed to make a time good enough to make the A Division after 2 races, even though they did not place high by their 3rd race. It was a good experience on team effort and synchronicity.
AUGUST OF 2012 - Laoshi, friends and students toured southern China for 10 days. Visiting tea museums, historical parks and monuments, bamboo forests and more, this trip was once in a lifetime experience!
